Corporate Responsibility at DHL

Corporate Responsibility is a core element of our corporate strategy. Acting responsibly as a company means we treat our employees, the environment, the interests of society and the capital that has been entrusted to us in a manner that is respectful and sustainable. Only in this way can we be successful in the long term.
We sponsor thousands of events all over the world each year. Our main sponsoring activities in Slovakia include the following projects:
Supporting children and young people is high on our social responsibility agenda. We are interested in projects, which contribute, to a significant extent, to an increase of the erudition of young people in Slovakia. Within the framework of our non-commercial activities, we cooperate with several non-profitable institutions, high schools and Universities.

In year 2003, we began to cooperate with Transport University in Zilina, where we are not only taking part at the classes and presenting information on various topics related to logistics and express transport, but we also run a DHL Student Award for students in 5th class. Two students with the best disertation projects, created for reserved subject are awarded with the financial prize 300 Euro.

We also provide the possibility of internships for students of high schools and universities and support students by providing access to resources, career advice, motivation, training, support and insight.

We take part at programs which help educate children about traffic safety – in 2009 we will be an official partner of interesting project run by Children Fund Slovak Republic (Detský fond Slovenskej republiky), dedicated to lowering the number of road accidents.
Narcissus Day", traditionally organised by Liga proti rakovine SR. The Narcissus Day belongs to the most successful one-day campaigns in Slovakia. Its aim is to raise the interest of all co-citizens in the solution of one of the most difficult problems of the mankind, which is the cancer. DHL supports this project by offering free transport of donation boxes to all corners of Slovakia. These boxes are also placed on each DHL reception, so customers and employees can donate money for this lovely project.

Blue Button week is UNICEF charitable project which aim is to raise money for vaccine transfer to Laos. DHL is official partner of this project, offering logistics support, help by fundraising and cooperation in terms of promotion.

Red Cross - we are supporting Red Cross activities by offering voluntary help, financial and material support.

Making a positive impact - globally and locally
